Social & Recreational Activities:

 

 

A regular progam of activities are offered daily and great importance is attached to asking residents what they personally enjoy. Particular consideration is taken to sensory disabilities. Activities include: 

 

  • Social activities 

  • One to One interaction 

  • Individually designed activity programs e.g. escorted trips

The home is a very active one, we place great emphasis on interaction and socialisation.

 

Daily activities include:

 

  • Morning communal exercises 

  • Walks out to the local shops and park 

  • Afternoon group socialising activities 

Weekly activities include:

 

  • Visits to the local pub 

  • Cultural outings e.g. dining out, theatre visits 

  • Relaxation and Meditation sessions 

  • Beauty therapy e.g. hair, nails

  • Mental Health awareness discussions 

  • Community meeting with management 

  • Shopping trips to local towns 

The numerous social activities carried out on a daily and weekly basis is a way of getting together and having fun which fulfills a social and emotional need aswell as a physical one.

 

Monthly special events are organised by our activities co-ordinator. 

 

 

 

Fernbank Theraputic Community is a residential care home which has been operating for over 25 years as a family business 
 

 

Our care team are carefully selected and highly trained in care using internal and external resources in line with "Skills For Care" guidelines the majority of staff are qualified to a minimum of NVQ Level 2 in care and all undertake mental health awareness training. They are trained to provide physical psychological and emotional support. 

Alternative Therapies:

 

 

To compliment our already comprehensive program of daily activities we have sourced a variety of qualified professionals who specialising in:

 

  • Cognitive Behavourial Therapy (CBT)

  • Counselling 

  • Aromatherapy 

  • Reiki 

  • Reflexology 

  • Massage

Financial Advice:

 

We have sourced a professional advice service which is offered free of charge to our clients providing expertise in the understanding of the benefit system and how goverment funding applies to care and is available by appointment to support clients and their family.

 

We also offer a personal expense management service for a nominal fee.

 

We can also charter the services of a registered independant financial advisors (FSA) if the client or the clients family need any help in advice over the planning of their financial future.
